Penalty Appeal Enters Fifth DayPosted: March 19, 2008
The unsuccessful penalty appeal by Lincoln during last weekend’s crucial match with Stockport County was still continuing as Sports Offensive went to press, a full five days after the incident.
Striker Louis Dodds claimed he was tripped in the box in injury time and was furious when referee Roger Bishop failed to award the spot kick.
Dodds lambasted the official as the teams left the field, and even followed Bishop home, spending the rest of the weekend hammering on the referee’s window and shouting through his letterbox.
The on-loan striker harangued Bishop’s children as they left for school on Monday, and then tailed the official as he left for his day job as a marketing manager.
A shabby and unshaven Dodds, who has been sleeping in a hedge in Bishop’s garden says he won’t rest until the referee changes his decision.
