Pardon You Howard, You’re Free

Former FA Technical Director Howard Wilkinson has been pardoned by the game’s ruling body.

Back in 2005, the FA barricaded Wilkinson in the attic room of a stately home in a dramatic review of their coaching structure but he has now been granted his freedom.

“Howard’s doing a brilliant job as technical director”, said FA Chief Executive Adam Crozier at the time. “But we feel he would be better employed by having no contact with any footballers whatsoever.”

Now that he’s been released, Wilkinson plans to write and star in a musical about his experience alongside an imaginary pigeon which he befriended during his captivity.
