Estonian Pop Fans Say “Moore Please”

“The Ballad Of Ronnie Moore” has hung on to the top spot in the Estonian charts for a record 61st month.

Sung by prog-pop group Rusting Wife, the song tells of the former Walsall manager’s emotional on-pitch farewell to the club’s fans back in October 2002 when he thought he was about to be offered the Ipswich job, only for the whole thing to be later revealed as a cruel hoax.

Moore is somehow seen as a hero to the people of Estonia, and bootleg recordings of his post-match interviews outsell other leading artists by five to one.

Per of Roxette recently described Moore as “a motherf***er”, a charge which the genial Scouse boss has yet to answer.
